BYOK (Bring Your Own Kid)

There are a lot of fall festivals in smaller towns in the area this time of year....this weekend is the Valley Center Fall Festival, where my kids go to school.....my 7 year old brought home a flyer from school about a fun run that is happening this year, and said he wanted to do it....it is a BYOK (Bring Your Own Kid) Parade Run to kick off the parade, and adults and kids run as a team and cross the finish line together. I think the distance is less than a mile, not really sure, but I was excited that he wanted to do it so I am planning on doing it with him, and it will hopefully be my kick start to begin running regularly again.

I can't believe how much better my foot feels, only a week after getting the steroid injection in my heel. I am glad I finally broke down and went to the doctor, and am hopeful that the injection did the trick. Officially, per doctor's orders, I'm not supposed to start running again until next Tuesday, but I don't think doing a fun run 3 days early will hurt. As I ease back into running I want to be very aware of my foot pain, so I don't re-injur myself. I'm just looking forward to getting back out there, this is great running weather.

so happy to hear the foot is feeling better! Hope your return from injury goes smoothly! Seems you've inspired your son with running since he brought home the flyer! Nicely done!

The last time VC held the runs, my family did that race too. It landed on my 25th birthday...so it's been awhile. Glad to hear it's back in swing again. That was my little ones first race too.
I'm marathon training this season so I'm missing my 5Ks, but I hope you guys have a great day. The small town parade is so much fun!

Don't become an addict....I don't want to start reading your new blog titled "How I found myself addicted to steroids-because it felt oh so good."

Have a great weekend!
