Let's Just Walk Everywhere, part two....

Okay, so remember when I said we should just walk everwhere? Turns out I was right.....

I am seriously thinking I should move somewhere that allows me to walk to work, my kids to walk to school, my wife to walk to the store, etc, etc....

Cars are from the devil, as proven by the $1500 repair bill for my wifes van today, just two weeks after a $600 bill. And I still need at least $500 worth of work done on my car.....

So either I need to start walking everywhere, or become a mechanic, and I don't think I have a mechanic future (just ask my wife).........

Running
I ran an easy 2 this morning and have cross training tonight, playing basketball...our team is undefeated and so is the team we're playing...it's the battle of the unbeatens...I might just take out my car aggression on that other team......

totally feel you on the car, last year we spent a total of $2500 on our two cars, it's at that point you start to consider getting new ones! UGH. I like the walking idea better. My husband bikes to work when it's warm enough (and doesn't have to go to court) and he loves it!

I so feel you. I love my new location where I can walk to the market and dinner places, but it is a ways from my work so I still have to drive there. Grrrr.

I'm so ready to start another season, I miss it.

Bikes are pretty cheap, too. I made it through 3 years of grad school cycling through North Carolina winters - but I had a bus pass as a backup on hardcore snow days. I guess it depends on what kind of job you have and what access to showers/lockers, etc, but that may be an option.

Man oh man, I hear you. How I hate to throw away money to keep a vehicle functional.

Hope b-ball was fun.

I went through car repair hell back in december. I can totally empathise. When the weather is a little better, I'll start cycle commuting more often. Take THAT car repairs!! Ha!

Thanks! I'm teaching at WSU, it's a new venture, I'll write about it, just haven't had time! AUGH! No run for me today, too exhausted, week too insane and have to teach at 12:30. We are going to run tomorrow morning instead. But I do prefer long runs on Saturdays... but sometimes you just gotta roll with it!
