It Pays to Run...Literally...

So I went for a nice easy 3-miler this morning in the dark, and about halfway into it I ran past what looked like a pile of money on the ground...there was just enough of the street light hitting it that I wasn't sure....I kept jogging but my curiousity was getting the best of me so I turned around and went back....here's what I found:

In all, 44 pennies (including one wheat penny and one Canadian penny), and one dime. Hey, in this economy I'll take 54 cents. That's enough to buy an apple or a banana.

My kids were so excited that I actually found money on my run. They couldn't believe it. Maybe I can convice them to come running with me now.

YAY! We are all staying downtown too, believe me, it's totally worth it just for the fact that you won't have to get up at 4:30a!

Me and my running buddies did the OKC marathon relay last year, it's how we came up with the name Fair Weather Runners actually. It was the most fun we have ever had in a race, loved it.

We have a runner here in Phoenix who has a running streak dating back several decades and he swears he finds money on his run every single day. I guess you just have to slow down long enough to pick it up.

that's great! I'll have to keep my eye on the ground once all this snow melts! LOL

Downtown is a fantastic idea! I had someone to drop me at the start so it was ok, but just staying around there would have been easier.

Honestly not sure I have a lot of tips...i know that I did over dress the year I did it because it's cold to start out, but you'll probably be fine with the half.

Wow, that's a lot of change to be found on the street! Awesome. Man, you must jingled all the way back home. :-)

Of my 3 years of running regularly, all I ever found was a dollar bill and a fake gold chain. I hope it was fake. I just left it there.
