We are trying to plan a Disney World trip, and one of the weekends we're looking at has a 5K race called the
Expedition Everest Challenge.
It's a little pricey, but I think it sounds really fun. It's an 5K race in Animal Kingdom after the park closes that has obstacles along the way, and then at the end there is a treasure hunt.
I would love to do it with my 8 yr old son. Has anyone done this race? Do you think an 8 yr old can complete it and have fun? Or should he stick with the kids' race? Thoughts?

I have not, but it is certainly on my future "to do" list!!!
i haven't done it, but i would think that it would be 'kid-friendly' being a disney race. go for it!
sounds a great father and son bonding experience for sure!
HEY! welcome back.....i hope that you are well....
never done that race, but it sure does sound like fun. we were in Disney in '04 when they were just starting to build the Everest ride. someday we'll make it back there for the ride, and maybe the race!
cool idea.
be well!

As far as an 8-year-old doing the race with you, I would say that if he can run/walk 2-miles with you in training, than he should be able to run the 5k with you on race day. Have fun!
Sounds like a good kids race, but I've got my heart set on the Disney Marathon someday (doubt my kids will want to go 26.2)
I've never done it, but secretly harbor a desire to do all of Disney's races, so if it's awesome you'll have to report on it, so I can guage whether it's in my future or not.
i never done how is it? looks excited Seattle Real Estate
