As I was getting dressed and putting my shoes on, my 7-year old said he wanted to come with me, so I told him, "great, let's go."
So we both bundled up and went out for a run in the dark. It was fun running with him, we talked the whole time, and he did really good. We went at a nice easy jog pace, like 11 min/mile, and went a total of 2 miles. The calf didn't give me any problems, so I think I can start running again. Hope to get my son out there with me on some more runs in the future.
Happy Friday everyone.

Great news on the calf! Take it easy though starting up again. If you're like me, you'll go out and run a gazillion miles because you can and then hurt something because you came back too fast.
YAY...I am hoping I will be back and running soon.
awesome news.
Good for you. Enjoy running with your kid. Mine is 23 and I cannot, for the life of me, get her to run a step!

I can't wait until my boys are old enough to run with me!! Welcome back..
I put you on my HIGH FIVE list with a "?" I am guessing you aren't racing this weekend??
Wow...your seven year old ran 2 miles?!? Mostly, I'm impressed with the 11 minute mile pace. My son will run with me, but he wants to run too fast, then he tires out after about 1/2 mile.
That sounds lovely! I like running with my kids too. Usually they ride along with their bike.

Going to need to take a cue from you. I'm a little injured (that's what I'll call it). Yes, I'm running tomorrow's turkey trot, but been instructed to take it easy.
Hopefully I'll see you as a volunteer.
ease back into it brother. no high milage runs yet. i can't wait until my kids are old enough to get some miles in.
Yay! That's great news.
That's awesome!!
Have a good weekend.
Sweet! Hooray for no pain-and time with the kiddo.
