Biggest Loser and Back on the Road Again...

Biggest Loser Thoughts

I totally did not get why Bob got so upset last night on the Biggest Loser. Or any of the contestants for that matter. Many of them had to switch teams, but big deal. Bob and Gillian are both good trainers, and they are still all about helping them lose weight. I know there are attachments that can develop with a trainer, but seriously several of them were in tears over it, and Bob was just acting weird. I didn't get it. It was sad to see the father and son brown team split up though.

I definitely have a favorite team now-the blue team, cousins Sione and Filipe. I was bummed they didn't win the "mud" challenge, but did anyone else think that Tara was not going all the way down to the ground on that challenge? I thought she was cheating. I hope she goes home soon, she is getting on my nerves. Part two is tonight, so we'll see who gets the boot.

Running Update -Back on the Road Again

These last few weeks I haven't been able to run much but now that my foot is feeling much better I feel like I'm getting my running mojo back, and I 'm getting back into my half marathon training groove.

I don't want to overdue it too fast, so I'm easing back into longer distances. I ran 3 miles yesterday, took a 3 mile walk with the family last night, and ran 3 miles this morning. Tomorrow I may or may not run, haven't decided. Tomorrow night I have a big basketball game against the top ranked and undefeated team in the league, so I need to conserve my energy. (our team is in 2nd place) I'm also using ice after all my runs, even short ones, for 5-10 minutes. The results seem to be great, it is reducing soreness and increasing recovery.

Along with running again, I feel like I have a renewed dedication to eat healthier. It is so easy to not eat right when you are injured and aren't exercising. So it's leftover spinach and chicken salad for me today for lunch.

I know what you mean about it being easy to not eat right when you're not in the normal routine due to injury. I'm struggling with eating right now too.

Thanks for the biggest loser update. Mine didn't record! :( I'll watch it tomorrow night, but I love the blue team I have a feeling they are going to get super in shape!

I did NOT understand Bob's emotional meltdown last night, either. Or the contestants' sadness over the team changes. People, these trainers are still there to help you, not hurt you! I think Mikey will do great with Jillian, and both teams will be fiercely competitive!

I'm a new runner, inspired by my cousin's (Chic Runner) blog and passion for running. Sometimes I feel like a wimp around her, but your blog gives me hope! I PR'd in a 5K walk over the weekend, and am training to run my first 5K at the end of March. Thanks for a great blog! (But, Go Mizzou!)

Blue team is my favorite for sure. They both seem so dang normal and down to earth. Plus I heard somewhere they are Mormon and I am too.... Ha ha... I did think that Bob WAY over reacted last night, Jillian was just like, huh, ok, that sucks, lets lose weight.

Yeah I don't often watch biggest loser, but we did last night and we were pretty confused about Bob! Kinda funny though.

Glad you are back out there and running, I'm with you on healthy eating, I'm ready for the Farmers Market to open back up, can't wait for ReAL spring!

Bob was being a total puss last nite! They're both world class trainers and my sorry ass would be happy to have either of them working with me!!! I'm gonna miss it tonite...very bummed...

I didn't get what the big deal was, either! I think both are such great trainers, I'd be SO happy with one of them... I guess they got all bent out of shape since they all have special relationships. Great job getting back into the running!!

Bob must have something else going on this season - he's been hyper emotional the whole time.

Glad to hear you're coming back easy - I think your body will thank you for it.

If I was a contestant and Bob was my trainer, I would have needed to kick his butt, and ask him to please stop crying like a baby. The whole thing felt like a made-for-TV, "there's not drama with the contestants this week, so let's script a little with the trainer" scenario.

I was glad, too, that (was it Felipe, or Sione?) one of the cousins said no, sorry, when the other team proposed wussing out on the 24 hour challenge.

On a Biggest Loser/running note...I got curious and looked up Bernie from a previous season's Chicago marathon time....he ran 4:15! Great time for anyone in what were terrible conditions last fall, but even more impressive to go from being morbidly obese to solid marathon finish.

I didn't get Bob's outburst either. I predict big losses for the people who had to switch teams - I think just shaking things up with a different trainer could really help them have a good week. We'll see . . .

Maybe they make like a serious emotional connection just doing all of that together? I don't know, it was a bit strange considering jillian is a kick butt trainer and they were leaving or anything.

way to go on the running! Very happy things are getting back to good for you!!

The Biggest Loser didn't show in our area last night. Something about the President doing some speech or something like that...LOL For some reason, they didn't air it. :(

Good job easing yourself back into running. I definitely need to try the icing thing!

Enjoy your healthy food! :D

I get the attachment that Bob has to his team. It would be like me getting a new TNT team and I don't see them every day. I think the emotions were a bit much, but he is Bob.

I only watch 2 shows on T.V.: House and Biggest Loser. I'm also routing for the blue team. I was impressed after the 2nd half of the episode where it showed that Dane ran the marathon under 4 hours!

So what do you think about Dane running the marathon. I was so impressed that he ran it in under four hours. Then, alas, I read that his time was really 5:53. Upon reading even more, I discovered taht he was given a ride for three miles. I have to admit that the way this was all handled by the producers and/or Dane, himself, has given me a bad taste for one of my very favorite shows.

On a brighter note, I am glad that you are back to running. Keep up that healthy eating!
